NWKL wraps up tourney at Leoti

St. Francis 58, Wichita County 36

St. Francis outscored Wichita County in every period to get a 58-36 win in a lower consolation game against tournament host Wichita County.

Clarice Neitzel led St. Francis with 30 points to pace St. Francis to victory. Justice Wiley also managed double figures for St. Francis scoring 11 points.

Nicole Huber led Wichita County with 12 points.

Greeley County 52, Oberlin 49

After trailing by 12 points after the third quarter, the Greeley County Lady Jackrabbits tied up the game late in the final period before Hannah Whitaker made a 3-point basket as time expired to help Greeley County escape Oberlin 52-49 in the seventh-place game.

Whitaker also led the Lady Jackrabbits in the game with 21 points, followed by Monica Veleta with 18 points and Courtney Glazier with 11.

Demi Murray led Oberlin with 20 points in the Lady Red Devils last-second loss.

The Dighton Lady Hornets were only outscored by three points in the fourth quarter but the margin was enough to fall to Atwood late 37-35 in the third-place game.

Leslie Speer and Diamond Brown both led Dighton with 13 and 11 points respectively.

Katie Withington led Atwood with 13 points.

The host Wichita County squad struggled through the second and third quarters and was enough to lose by a hair in their 43-42 loss to St. Francis in the seventh-place game. Cade Bracelin led St. Francis with 15 points.

Bryce Nickelson led Wichita County with 12 points while Jantz Budde chipped in 11 as they managed to hold a seven point lead at halftime.

Martin Veleta led Greeley County with 16 points. Cesar Yanez also had double figures for the Jackrabbits with 15 points, followed by A.J. Govert with 14 and Miguel Trejo with 13.

Ryan Kuhlman led Dighton with 18 points with Matthew Mulville adding 10 in the Hornets losing effort.
