Late Friday prep football: Lakin, Cimarron win; Dighton, Deerfield fall

Lakin 34, Elkhart 28
At Elkhart, Ty Adams rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns to help the Lakin Broncs register a 34-28 victory over Elkhart in a battle of Hi-Plains League teams on Friday night.
Adams, who had 24 carries in his effort, rushed for touchdowns on runs of 1, 15 and 20 yards.
The game was tied at 14 after one quarter and the Broncs took the lead for good with 13 points in the second period. Caleb Seeger hit Kevin Dasenbrock with a 41-yard TD pass in the second quarter for the Broncs. Gage McAtee's 8-yard run in the fourth quarter proved to be the winning points for Lakin, which improved to 2-1.
Elkhart got four touchdown passes from Alex Gomez, who completed 15-of-35 passes for 189 yards. His passes covered 12 yards to Hunter Burnett and 9, 10 and 30 yards to Jordan Forbit, Seeger finished the game hitting 9-of-13 passes for 160 yards for Lakin.

Cimarron 48, Sublette 8
At Sublette, Ty Clark rushed for 232 yards on just 14 carries and scored five touchdowns, four on the ground, to lead unbeaten Cimarron's Bluejays to a 48-8 victory over the Larks on Friday night.
Clark's touchdowns came on runs of 2, 36, 49 and 55 yards and then on a 68-yard pass from Caleb Fischer. The Bluejays led 13-0 after one quarter and 27-0 at halftime. It was 48-8 after three quarters.
The Bluejays also got scores from Josh Mies on a 7-yard run and Isaac Stanley on a 2-yard run.
Sublette's lone touchdown came in the third quarter when Carlos Chavarria caught a 36-yard pass from Brendan Giesick. Giesick hit Kyler Line for the 2-point conversion.
Fischer finished the game with 6-of-9 passing for 163 yards for the Bluejays. He was intercepted once. Avigael Gonzales was Sublette's leading rusher with 73 yards on 15 carries.
Cimarron, 3-0, will host No. 3-ranked Class 2-1A Meade on Friday night in a big matchup of Hi-Plains league teams. Sublette falls to 1-2 and will travel to Lakin on Friday.

Quinter 38, Dighton 18
At Dighton, Quinter scored two touhdowns each in the first, second and third quarters to outscore the host Hornets en route to a 38-18 triumph on Friday night.
Quinter jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead before the Hornets got on the board when Isaac Alinor caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Kuhlman to trim the lead to 14-6. Kuhlman then raced 26 yards in the second period to make it 14-12, but a tying 2-point conversion run was stopped. The Bulldogs added two more TDs in the second to go up 26-12 at halftime.
Another Bulldog score in the third increased their lead to 32-12 before Kuhlman scored the Hornets' final TD on a 50-yard scamper. The pass for two points was incomplete. Quinter closed out the scoring late in the third period on a 49-yard TD run.
Kuhlman finished the game with 155 yards on 17 carries. He also was 5-of-11 passing for 47 yards. Alinor caught four passes for 46 yards to lead the Hornets.
The Hornets fall to 1-2 and will travel to Hoxie on Friday. Quinter improves its season record to 2-1 and is at Atwood-Rawlins County on Friday.

Moscow 76, Deerfield 30
At Deerfield, the Moscow Wildcats opened up a 28-6 first-quarter lead en route to a convincing 76-30 victory over the Deerfield Spartans in a game pitting two Santa Fe Trail League teams.
Moscow, in improving to 2-1, got four rushing touchdowns from Alexis Manriquez, three TDs rushing, 1 kickoff return and a pass reception for another score from Lane Miller while Brock Brazel had one rushing touchdown and Rigo Bustillos added a touchdown reception for the Wildcats. Miller tacked on three 2-point conversion runs and the Wildcats scored on a safety when Deerfield snapped the ball out of the end zone.
The Spartans, falling to 1-2, got a 21-yard TD run by Anthony Mata, two touchdowns passes covering 39- and 60-yards from Mike Mata to Anthony Mata, and added in a Rene Rubio 58-yard touchdown run. Moscow totaled 484 yards on offense while Deerfield finished with 271 yards.
