Hi-Plains League: Stanton Co., Meade earn shutout victories

Stanton County 35, SW Heights 0

At Johnson, the Stanton County Trojans continued their winning ways as Quinn Kendrick led the Trojans with three rushing touchdowns and passed for one more in Stanton County's 35-0 win over SW Heights on Friday.

Kendrick rushed seven times for 115 yards in the game in addition to his scoring plays. Marques Logan also had a 36-yard touchdown late in the second half as the backup players finished out the second half to send the Trojans to 4-0 on the season.

SW Heights' Ben Johnsrud completed 3-11 passes for 42 yards and an interception in the Mustangs loss.

Sublette 7

At Lakin, the Broncs offense had their night against visiting Sublette as Lakin led 28-0 at the half and cruised to a 49-7 win over the Larks on Friday night.

Kevin Dasenbrock, Ty Adams, Gage McAtee, and Wyatt Burnett each had a rushing touchdown for Lakin. Caleb Seeger also had numbers for Lakin as he passed six times for 121 yards and two more touchdowns in a balanced scoring effort for the Broncs. The winning effort moves Lakin to 3-1.

Carlos Chavarria had a late touchdown for Sublette to avoid a shutout for the Larks.

Wichita County 28

At Elkhart, the Wildcat's quarterback Alex Gomez was on fire for Elkhart as he completed 14-21 passes for 401 yards including six touchdowns to get Elkhart to a high scoring victory over Wichita County 58-28 on Friday.

A.J. McKinley and Hunter Burnett each received two of Gomez's touchdown passes to also lead Elkhart on the ground as Austin Bond also had two touchdown runs for the Wildcats. Jordan Forbit and Preston Bashford rounded out Elkhart's offense with each receiving a touchdown reception from Gomez.

Colton Northup had two rushing touchdowns for Wichita County. Jantz Budde also scored two touchdowns, including the last one of the game on a 70-yard kickoff return despite the loss for the Indians.

Elkhart is now 3-1 while Wichita County falls to 1-3.

At Cimarron, the visiting Buffaloes was too much for Cimarron as Meade cruised to a 56-0 win over the Bluejays on Friday.

Chris Hardaway led Meade in the air as he passed for three touchdowns in the second quarter. Trevin Wiens did much of the same on the ground for Meade's Buffaloes with three rushing touchdowns, one in the second quarter and two in the third quarter.
