Moscow girls beats Syracuse, 42-27

The Lady Wildcats outscored Syracuse 28-13 in the second half as Moscow pulled away for a 42-27 victory in the opening round of the Rolla Showcase on Thursday.

Kelsi Mueller and Kaitlyn Dobie led Moscow with 11 points each.

Kiah Rash led Syracuse with eight points. The game had been tied at halftime, 14-all.

The Beaver Lady Dusters jumped out to a 25-7 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they overpowered Stanton County 58-27 in a first round game Thursday afternoon.

Jacinda Balderama led Beaver with 23 points, with 12 of those points coming from 3-point range.

Jenna Black and Kristina Gerard led Stanton County with eight points apiece.

Lakin faces Guymon, Okla. in the loser's bracket today at 6:30 p.m. while Stratford advances to face Hugoton today also at 6:30 p.m.

The Hooker Lady Bulldogs scored in double figures in each quarter to edge out Southwestern Heights 58-46 on Thursday to begin the Hugoton Blue Red Classic.

Kyra Cathcart and Shania Miller had impressive numbers for Hugoton scoring 23 and 22 points respectively to carry the team.

Nayelly LaPoint was the only player for Southwestern Heights in double figures with 22 points.

Heights face Ulysses today at 4:45 p.m. in the loser's bracket.
