GWAC: Hugoton wins big over Guymon

Hugoton 57, Guymon, Okla. 7

At Hugoton, the Eagles scored in double-digits in each of the first three quarters of the game, as Hugoton got its first win of the season with a 57-7 thrashing of Guymon on Friday night.

Michael Baeza ran for 66 yards and three touchdowns to lead Hugoton in scoring. Yates Sutton led the team in rushing with 165 yards with a touchdown and also chipped in a touchdown pass to Ross Davis. Davis, Ulises Armendariz, and Cordell Barnes all had one rushing touchdown each as well.

Guymon got its only score in the fourth quarter on an 83-yard run by Clay Brooks.

Hugoton is now 1-2.

At Ulysses, the Tigers shut out Colby 24-0 on Friday night.

Alec Meierhoff rushed for two touchdowns to lead Ulysses in scoring. Armando Sandoval led on the ground for Ulysses as he rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown. Ian Rudzik had the only second-half score, as he scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to cap off Ulysses' scoring.

Ulysses is now 2-1.
