Meade, Elkhart girls move on; Rolla, Moscow boys end seasons

Class 2A Semifinals

at Elkhart

Meade 56,

Hodgeman County 39

The Meade Lady Buffaloes jumped out with a double-digit lead on Hodgeman County early and held on for a 56-39 win in the Class 2A sub-state semifinals at Elkhart on Friday.

Tarah Wiens led a balanced Meade team with 12 points, followed by Bailey Olvera with 11 points and Alyssa Rudzik with 10.

Shania Liggett led Hodgeman County with 19 points.

Meade will face sub-state host Elkhart today at 6 p.m.

Stanton County 52

The host Elkhart Lady Wildcats outscored Stanton County 34-17 in the second half to come back from five points down and defeat Stanton County 64-52 on Friday in the other Class 2A sub-state semifinal on Friday.

Miranda Brewer led Elkhart with 25 points to lead all scorers in the game. Victoria Fullerton also added 15 points for Elkhart.

Jenna Black and Kristina Gerard led Stanton County with 18 and 11 points respectively as the Lady Trojans season comes to an end with a final record of 8-14.

Elkhart faces Meade at 6 p.m. today.

Satanta 46

A 21-9 second quarter deficit for the Satanta Lady Indians allowed Bucklin to charge ahead and hold on for a 59-46 win in a Class 1A-Div. I sub-state semifinal game on Friday at Coldwater.

Janae Price and Morgan Hood led Bucklin with 16 and 13 points, respectively.

Kristy Blair and Valerie Caro led Satanta with 10 points apiece as the Lady Indians end their season with a record of 10-13.

Deerfield 57,

South Central 37

The Deerfield Spartans held the hosts South Central to one point in the first quarter and five points for the entire first half to rush out early and hold on for a 57-37 win on Friday in a Class 1A-Div. I sub-state semifinal.

Mike Mata led Deerfield with 18 points, followed by Alex Mata with 16 points and Rene Rubio with 12 as the Spartans outscored South Central 31-5 in the first half to cruise to victory.

Alec Konrade and Koy Alexander led South Central with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Deerfield will advance to today's sub-state final against Minneola. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Moscow 29

The Fowler Goldbugs outscored Moscow 61-22 in the first three quarters of the game on their way to a 65-29 win over the Wildcats on Friday in a Class 1A Div. II sub-state semifinal game at Ingalls.

Tem Shetley led Fowler with 21 points, followed by Ty Clark with 16 points as the Goldbugs used a 29-2 second quarter run to extend their lead over Moscow to 33 points at halftime.

Rigo Bustillos led Moscow with 15 points as the Wildcats end their season with a record of 8-13.

The Ashland Bluejays kept Rolla at bay throughout and was able to hold on for a 44-35 win over the Pirates on Friday in the other Class 1A Div. II sub-state semifinal at Ingalls.

Kole Konrade and Grant Meininger led Ashland with 16 and 14 points, respectively, followed by Corey McCann, who chipped in 11.

Lupe Garcia led Rolla with 12 points as the Pirates end their season with a record of 10-9.

Dighton 59,

Northern Valley 49

The Dighton Hornets broke a 36-all tie after the third quarter by outscoring Northern Valley 23-13 in the final period and running away for a 59-49 win on Friday in the Class 1A-Div. II sub-state semifinals at Palco.

Ryan Kuhlman led Dighton with a commanding 32-point performance, including 15 points made in the crucial fourth quarter. Dirk Torson also had 10 points for Dighton.

Jordan Baird led Northern Valley with 14 points. Hunter Chandler and Phillip Compton also chipped in 12 points apiece for the Huskies.

Dighton will face Palco at 7:30 p.m. today in the sub-state final at Palco.
