Hugoton, Cimarron girls get easy victories; SW Heights falls

Hugoton 60,

Ulysses 29

At Hugoton, the Lady Eagles got off to a slow start before dismantling Ulysses' defense in their 60-29 win over the Lady Tigers on Tuesday.

Chastity Parsons led Hugoton with 20 points with Nicole Kinser adding 13 points and Riley Sosa putting up 12 points. Hugoton trailed 8-7 after the first period before charging ahead for a 30-13 halftime lead and 44-20 margin after the third quarter.

Carolina Gallegos and Amanda Langley led Ulysses with seven points each.

SW Heights 27

At Meade, the Lady Buffaloes outscored Southwestern Heights 42-16 in the first three quarters of play en route to a a 51-27 win over the Lady Mustangs on Tuesday.

Bailey Olvera and Kinzie Friesen both scored in double figures for Meade with 16 and 10 points, respectively, to lead all players as the Lady Buffaloes led 14-4 after the first quarter and 31-12 at halftime.

Ivon Amparon led Heights with nine points as the Lady Mustangs suffered their first Hi-Plains League loss.

Cimarron 77,

Larned 34

At Cimarron, the Lady Jays outscored Larned in every quarter and had a 46-13 halftime lead to overrun the Lady Indians 77-34 on Tuesday to stay undefeated.

Ashtynn Burns led Cimarron with 22 points. Eva Koopman also added 17 points for the Lady Jays with Morgan Ediger pitching in 16 points.

Bailey Schartz and Shay Shepherd both led Larned with six points apiece.

Stanton County 45

At Johnson, the Lakin Lady Broncs used a 19-8 second quarter to take a 29-16 halftime lead, just enough to hold off Stanton County for a 52-45 Lakin victory on Tuesday.

Karlee Davidson led Lakin with 15 points. Kara Simmons and Darrie Rogers also were in double figures for Lakin with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Jenna Black led Stanton County with 16 points.

At Satanta, despite trailing by two points after the third period, visiting Moscow used a 22-15 fourth quarter to overcome Satanta with a 64-59 victory in non-conference action on Tuesday.

Kelsi Mueller led Moscow with 21 points. Moscow also got help from Kendra Haines, who scored 13 points and Maria Cecenas who chipped in 12.

Kacey Smith led Satanta with 17 points as both Vanessa Caro and Valerie Caro had double figures for Satanta, with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Satanta used a 18-12 second quarter to take a 27-25 halftime lead.

At Leoti, visiting Hoxie used a powerful offensive game to shut down Wichita County early, leading by 35 at halftime en route to a 82-38 win Tuesday.

Terran Hoyt and Danel Stithem both led Hoxie with 18 points each, with Hoyt's points all coming from 3-point range. Gabi Spresser also added 16 points for Hoxie with Kristina Farber chipping in 12.

Hoxie led 27-8 after one quarter of play and 72-27 after the third. Hoxie made 10 3-point goals.

Tailar Bremer led Wichita County with 10 points.
