Sublette girls shock Meade; Lakin, Cimarron snare victories

Meade 37

At Sublette, the Lady Larks held Meade to 10 points in the second half before holding off the Lady Buffaloes late to pull off a 45-37 victory on Friday.

Brooke Briggs led Sublette with 15 points. Alexis Ornelas and Riley Matteson also scord in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. The Lady Larks outscored Meade 35-23 in the first three periods.

Bailey Olvera and Tarah Wiens led Meade with 11 points each.

At Deerfield, the visiting Lady Broncs had little trouble against fellow Kearny County squad in coasting to a 53-16 victory over the Lady Spartans on Friday.

Mariah Watkins led a balanced Lakin team with 16 points as they charged to a 21-point lead by halftime.

Mollie Calderon and Hailey Novack led Deerfield with seven and six points, respectively, as the Lady Spartans remained winless for the season.

Kali Hoskinson led Elkhart with 12 points.

At Tribune, the Lady Jackrabbits were no match for visiting Oakley as the Lady Plainsmen jumped out to a 22-6 lead after the first quarter and cruised past Greeley County for a 61-41 win on Friday.

Laura Dennis had a stellar night for Oakley with 29 points. Marlee Rath added 10 points for the Lady Plainsmen.

Greeley County's Hannah Whitaker had a big night of her own with 24 points.

Kacey Smith led Satanta with 14 points followed by Vanessa Caro with 11 points.

Kiah Rash and Delaney Pollart led Syracuse with nine points each as a 13-9 fourth quarter advantage was not enough to overcome Satanta after a tough third period in which the Lady Bulldogs managed just three points.
