Deerfield, Ingalls, South Gray post victories in 8-man games

Deerfield 52, Moscow 6

At Moscow, the visiting Deerfield Spartans had little trouble finding the endzone against the Wildcats and cruised to a 52-6 victory on Friday.

Mike Mata had a big night for Deerfield as he passed for three touchdowns and ran for four, his longest score being a 50 yard run in the first quarter. Jake Tackett, Alex Mata, and Anthony Mata each received Mike Mata's three passing touchdowns in the second quarter.

Vance Thompson had Moscow's lone score on a two yard run to begin the game. The game was called in the third quarter due to the 45-point mercy rule.

Ingalls 42, Satanta 36

At Ingalls, the Bulldogs got into a tight contest against Satanta but would hold on for a 42-36 win over the Indians on Friday.

Ingalls quarterback Zeke Cox completed 7 of 22 passes for 210 yards, scoring two touchdowns and one interception. Cox also had a rushing touchdown in the game. Josh Irsik led Ingalls on the ground as he rushed for 142 yards and one touchdown.

On the receiving end, Branson Sandoval and LaMontae Heady had key performances. Sandoval received for 92 yards and one touchdown and scored another touchdown off of a fumble recovery. Heady received for 98 yards and one touchdown to cap off Ingalls' team effort.

Both Ingalls and Satanta are now 2-1 on the season.

South Gray 52, Bucklin 20

At Bucklin, the visiting South Gray Rebels used double digit first and fourth quarters to pull away from the Red Aces for a 52-20 SPIAA league win on Friday and get their first win of the season.

Henry Friesen led South Gray on the ground as he rushed 20 times for 235 yards and four touchdowns, his longest being a 75 yard run for the games first score. Ryan Griebel also had success on the ground with 16 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns to both led the Rebels.

Isaiah Warnke led Bucklin as he scored two touchdowns, both coming off kickoff returns in the first and third quarters. Christian Stimpert also had a touchdown pass to Colton Downey in the third quarter for Bucklin's other score.

At Goodwell, the visiting Rolla Pirates rolled past Goodwell as Kyler Telford's eight carries for 130 rushing yards and four touchdowns helped Rolla stampede past Goodwell 46-0 in a Thursday game.

Kyler Telford's longest rushing touchdowns came on two 43 yard runs in the early part of the first and third quarters. Jaron Rusch also passed for two quick touchdowns to Obie Telford and Kyler Telford, both coming late in the first and second quarters respectively.

The game was called with 10 minutes left in the third quarter after a high snap by Goodwell on a punt sailed out of the endzone for a Rolla safety to get to the mercy rule win.
