8-man: Dighton, Moscow roll; Deerfield, Satanta dropped

Spearville 60, Deerfield 12

At Deerfield, the visiting Royal Lancers overpowered Deerfield early and ran away with a 60-12 win over the Spartans on Friday in district play.

Spearville's running game had 318 yards as a team and had six rushing touchdowns.

Deerfield's Mike Mata did complete 11 of 22 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns before the game was called by halftime due to the 45-point mercy rule.

Dighton 62, Wilson 14

At Wilson, the Hornets had double digit scoring in each of the first three quarters of play and flew away from the Wilson Dragons for a 62-14 decision on Friday to stay undefeated in district play.

The game was called in the third quarter due to the 45-point mercy rule.

Dighton will host Victoria on Friday in a crucial district game for the Hornets.

Moscow 76, Bucklin 26

At Moscow, the Wildcats used a team scoring effort to overpower visiting Bucklin 76-26 on Friday.

Moscow's Alexis Manriquez led his team with four rushing touchdowns, his longest from 32 yards out. Brock Brazeal also helped out the Wildcats with three rushing touchdowns in the third quarter with his longest being a 49-yard run. Brice Valdez and Jorge Araiza also tacked on touchdown runs for Moscow as Manriquez also had a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter while Brazeal scored another touchdown on a 24-yard fumble return, also in the second quarter.

Bucklin's Lakin Pianalto had touchdown passes of 40 yards and 52 yards to lead the Red Aces before the game was called with 6:18 left in the third quarter.

At Satanta, the visiting Hodgeman County Longhorns held back Satanta's offense and cruised to a 60-12 win over the Indians on Friday.

Kolt Washburn and Alex Kreger each had three touchdowns for Hodgeman County to lead their team to the easy win.

A 1-yard touchdown run by Adrian Longoria and a 25-yard Kyle Abernathy touchdown pass to Guadalupe Alvarado were the only scores for Satanta in their district loss.

Rolla 58, Ashland 38

At Rolla, the Pirates and Ashland Bluejays had a rough and tumble game before Rolla came out on top with a 58-38 win on Friday for Rolla's first district victory of the year.

Kyler Telford had all of Rolla's touchdowns in the game with six rushing touchdowns and two more special teams scores. His longest rushing touchdown was a 44-yard run late in the third quarter. Telford also had a 78-yard kickoff return in the first quarter and a 75-yard interception return in the second quarter.

Grant Meininger and Nathan Reimer each had two rushing touchdowns for Ashland in the game.

Rolla quarterback Obie Telford and Ashland quarterback Corey McCann were injured before halftime and both would not return. Ashland had a handful of other players injured in the game.

Rolla will visit Ingalls next week as Ashland hosts Moscow.

At Tribune, the Jackrabbits weren't able to hold off the offensive onslaught of the Wallace County Wildcats, as they cruised to a 58-0 win over Greeley County that was called after halftime due to the 45-point mercy rule. The Wildcats continued their run through the regular season as they are undefeated with a record of 6-0. After the loss, the Jackrabbits dropped to 2-4 on the season.

South Gray 66, Minneola 44

At Minneola, the visiting South Gray Rebels had big games from their backs on their way to a 66-44 barn burner win over Minneola on Friday.

Henry Friesen, Jason Guenther, and Ryan Griebel each rushed for over 100 yards for South Gray in their win.

South Gray is now 3-3 overall and 2-0 in district play.
