11-man: Hugoton, Oakley win big

At Hugoton, the home team Eagles swept the visiting Colby Eagles to the tune of 56-0. Hugoton ground out the game with 459 rushing yards with Ross Davis leading the way with 14 carries for 138 yards. Hugoton got on the board first on a one yard touchdown run by Yates Sutton, while the two-point conversion was scored on a run by Ross Davis. It continued to be all offense for Hugoton, but not for Colby, as at the end of the game Hugoton had an astounding 632 yards of total offense to -1 yards for Colby.

At Leoti, the visiting Elkhart Wildcats jumped out to a 33-0 first quarter lead and coasted to a 41-7 win over Wichita County on Friday to move to 4-0 on the season.

Elkhart also had another touchdown in the third quarter, before Wichita County finally got on the board in the fourth quarter.

Elkhart takes their undefeated record to Sublette on Friday while Wichita County travels to Oakley, also on Friday.

Oakley 72, Syracuse 0

At Syracuse, the visiting Plainsmen blew past Syracuse for an overwhelming 72-0 win over the Bulldogs on Friday.

Oakley had a balanced scoring effort as Jesse Stewart, Colter Stoll, and Key Keller each rushed for two touchdowns apiece while Darius Herl pass for two more for the Plainsmen. Herl and Stewart also had interception returns for touchdowns in the game as well.

Syracuse remains winless on the season and will host Southwestern Heights next on Friday.

At Kismet, the Heights Mustangs scored a touchdown each in the second, third, and fourth quarters to gradually pull away from Stanton County for a 20-0 win on Friday.

Brandon Kisner rushed for a five yard touchdown in the second quarter and then completing a 24-yard touchdown pass to Jorge DelaTorre in the third quarter to lead the Mustangs on the night.

Efrain Chavez also scored for Southwestern Heights on a nine yard run in the fourth quarter to cement the win.

The Heights Mustangs move to 2-2 on the year while Stanton County falls to 1-3.
