Those of us who have food on the table, a home to live in and a family who love us are truly blessed. However, in southwest Kansas, as in most communities, there are those who need help.

Emmaus House is the largest food pantry, homeless/emergency shelter and soup kitchen in southwest Kansas. We have serviced the poor and needy for the past 39 years and are struggling to continue with our mission. To make our budget stretch, we only have three full-time employees and two paid night staff.

In 2017, we had 172 house guests that stayed 2,298 nights, which included families and their children, and we provided over 252,732 meals that fed over 34,000 people. The community provides a portion of the perishable goods that we distribute and use for the hot meals, however, we still need to buy other food items. We also have expenses for utilities, house repairs, repair of freezers, washers and dryers, etc.

Emmaus House receives some help through small grants and community donations of service, food and money. Emmaus House is grateful to be blessed with so many friends and donors. Even though we get much, we still need more to meet our monthly expenses. We currently only have enough funds to continue providing all services for a few months! We are looking for financial sponsors and monetary donations. Any amount you can provide will be greatly appreciated. This is important for Emmaus House to continue operating!

Please help us help those in need. Contact us today with your donation pledge or simply drop your donation in the mail to 802 N. Fifth in Garden City. If you have any questions, feel free to call our executive director, Robin Marsh, at (620) 275-2008.

Thank you and God bless!

Sincerely,
