Shana Marez, 44, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colo.
She was born Nov. 10, 1968, in Garden City, to Charles Frank and Joyce Lea Schaplowsky McGaughey. She had worked at Walmart for several years.
She married Robert D. Marez on May 4, 1991, in Garden City. He survives.
Survivors include her mother; two daughters, Taylor and Jordan Marez, both of Garden City; two brothers, Kevin McGaughey of Bates City, Mo., and Laine McGaughey of Garden City; and a sister, Laree Nason of Berlin, N.H.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Memorials are suggested to the Marez Children's Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
