Pearl Hopson

Pearl Hopson, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Homestead Health and Rehabilitation Center in Garden City.
She was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Pueblo, Colo., to Vaso and Mary Basta.
On June 27, 1964, she married Darrell "Hop" Hopson in Virginia City, Nev. He died May 10, 2006.
Mrs. Hopson was a longtime resident of Colorado and Garden City.
She is survived by five daughters, Dianne and husband Rob Hansard of Altoona, Iowa, Georgia and husband Mike Fregon of Garden City, Suzanne and husband George Bauernfeind of Cottage Grove, Minn., Joni and husband Rick Coffield of Beloit and Marianne and husband Duane Rupp of Garden City; a brother, Robert Basta of Longmont, Colo.; three sisters, Violet Hartnagle of Platteville, Colo, and Helen Johns and DIane Silbaugh, both of Longmont; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Mike, Danny and George Basta; a sister, Mildred Osborne; and a great-granddaughter, Evelynn "Pearl" Bauernfeind.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cornerstone Church in Garden City.
Burial will take place at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
