HOOKER, Okla. — Lenora Mae Mouser, 76, of Hooker, Okla., died May 2, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.

HOOKER, Okla. — Lenora Mae Mouser, 76, of Hooker, Okla., died May 2, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.

Lenora was born May 4, 1936 to Roy and Mary Carroll Russel in Cheyenne Wells, Colo. The family then moved to Hooker, Okla. where she attended rural school and later Hooker High School, graduating with the Class of 1954.

On July 3, 1954, she married C.J. Mouser in Hooker, Okla. They made their home at Straight housing near Hooker and in 1955 they moved to Garden City. While there, Mrs. Mouser made draperies and drove the school activity bus and a special needs bus. She also worked for Pioneer Seeds, where she drove the bus and supervised the kids on a roguing crew that cut trash out of corn fields. In 1975, the couple moved back to the farm near Hooker and in 1990 they moved to town.

Mrs. Mouser was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooker where she served on the BWOM, flower committee and took care of the breezeway. She made the church's ceramic nativity scene which is still used each Christmas. Other memberships include Hooker Cemetery Board, Parks Board, Mother Club, Muddobers Club, Red Hats and while in Garden City she was member of Eagles Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; Carroll Russell; and great-granddaughter, Adryon Michelle Knoll.

Survivors include her husband C.J.; one son, Sparky Mouser and wife Ruby of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Louaine Knoll and husband Harold of Garden City, Brenda Scott and husband Donny of Hooker, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Ben, Matt, Jonathan, Nicole, Amber, Molly, Josh and Gabe; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor's choice and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Okla. with Brother Jim Roebuck officiating. A private family burial will precede the service at the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla.
