Nellie Violet Toole

HUGOTON — Nellie Violet Toole, 87, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.

The daughter of Marvin Miller and Violet Beesley Miller, she was born August 28, 1922, in Hugoton. She was a lifetime resident.

She and Orval Roy Toole were married September 1, 1940, in Hugoton. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Hugoton.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Toole of Shawnee, Okla.; a daughter, Yvonne Pierce of Hugoton; two sisters, Edna Kinser of Hugoton, and Winifrey Vore of Purdy, Mo.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roy Dean Toole; twin daughters Myrna and Mildred Toole; a grandson, Dr. Monte Pierce; and a beloved son-in-law, Earl Pierce.

Memorials have been established for either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Memorials may be mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church with Pastor Larry Bradford presiding. The burial will follow in the Hugoton Cemetery. Paul's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
