Maria H. Noriega, 91, Garden City, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

Maria H. Noriega, 91, Garden City, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

She was born March 30, 1921, to Pedro and Bonifacia Noriega, in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Miss Noriega lived in Garden City since 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Margarita Chavez of Garden City and Maria Ortega of Salina; one son, Juan Rivas of Aurora, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

Vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Mexico.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.

The family requests memorials given to St. Mary Catholic Church, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
