SYRACUSE — James Charles Grilliot, Jr., 89, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse.

SYRACUSE — James Charles Grilliot, Jr., 89, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse.

He was born June 29, 1923, in North Star, Ohio, to James Charles Grilliot, Sr., and Barbara Mary Stammen Grilliot.

He married Beulah Therese Smith on Sept. 12, 1945, in Las Animas, Colo.

He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, of Syracuse; two sons, David and Danny Grilliot, both of Syracuse; three daughters, Therese Blyn of Wichita, Ellen Larson of Cunningham, and Janice Garten of Wichita; two brothers, Joe Grilliot of Roeland Park, and Tom Grilliot of Castleton; three sisters, Mary Gerard of Syracuse, Ann Smith of Las Animas, Colo., and Zita Brummel of Overland Park; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Services are 10:30 a.m. (MDT) Wednesday at the St. Raphael Catholic Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.

Rosary service is 7 p.m. (MDT) Tuesday at Fellers Funeral Home LLC, Syracuse.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (MDT) Tuesday at Fellers Funeral Home LLC, Syracuse.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the James Grilliot Memorial fund for a Respect Life monument or the cemetery improvement fund, in care of the funeral home.
