Inez Mae Kohlhorst, 97, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the Homestead Assisted Living in Garden City.
She was born on May 5, 1915, in Caldwell, to Arthur Roy Hoyt and Minnie Henerietta Hoyt.
On Sept. 19, 1934, she married Harold Leondis Kohlhorst in Hutchinson.
Mrs. Kohlhorst leased and operated the Raney Inn and Ames Coffee Shop restaurants in the 1950s in Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Warren Adrian Kohlhorst; and three brothers, Elmer, Harley and Dale Hoyt; and one sister, Ruby Woodley.
She is survived by a son, Carl Kohlhorst of Syracuse; a daughter, Norma Graber of Decatur, Ala.; three sisters, Opal Walkinshaw, Elsie Maxey and Ruth Dunn, all of Johnson City; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Syracuse. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Fellers Funeral Home LLC in Syracuse.
