SCOTT CITY — Howard Edwin Cheney, 82, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Garden City, to Gilbert Howard and Emma Mildred Dague Cheney. He was a farmer.

He married Lauretta Simmons on Jan. 25, 1953, in Garden City.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Greg Cheney of Topeka, and Gary and Glen Cheney, both of Scott City; two daughters, Judy Thomas and Karla Sharpe, both of Scott City; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City.

Memorials are suggested to Scott County EMTs, in care of the funeral home.
