HUGOTON — Harold E. Swagerty, 87, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his residence in Hugoton.

HUGOTON — Harold E. Swagerty, 87, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his residence in Hugoton.

He was born March 2, 1926, at Elkhart to Benjamin Franklin and Ella May Webb.

He married Verda Ruth Kamper on Nov. 16, 1947, at Clayton, N.M.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Arden Craig Swagerty, Moore, Okla., and Emery Varnell Swagerty, Liberal; a daughter, Janell Jean Summers, San Angelo, Texas; a sister, Alice Mae McKinney; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-gradchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ralph Swagerty.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of God, Hugoton. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God.

A memorial has been established for First Church of God, in care of Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.
