George Calvin Ming Jr., 59, of Canyon, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Amarillo, Texas.

George Calvin Ming Jr., 59, of Canyon, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born April 1, 1953, to George and Mary Ming in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mr. Ming was a former resident of Garden City. He worked in auto sales.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Tomlinson.

Survivors include one son, George Ming of Amarillo; one daughter, Lynell Drown of Amarillo; three brothers, James Kerns of Garden City and Mike and Mark Ming, both of Colorado Springs; one sister, Jackie Smith of San Diego; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79109.

Burial will take place in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon.
