Doris Reed

SCOTT CITY — Doris J. Reed, 81, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in a car crash in Finney County.

She was born April 15, 1931, in Rush County, to Mike P. and Mary Hamardla Urban.

A resident of Scott City since 1934, she worked for Wheatland Electric in Scott City until her retirement in 1996.

Survivors include a son, Arlan Reed of Scott City; two daughters, Susan Hull of Scott City and Sandra Nicholson of Garden City; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward "Mike" Urban; and a sister, Alene Dearden.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Community Christian Church in Scott City.

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to Community Christian Church or the Scott County VIP Center, in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
