LIBERAL — Ciriaco Ponce, 85, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at his home in Liberal.

He was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Olanchito, Honduras, to Joaquin Duarte and Nemecia Ponce.

He married Estela Posas in 2005. She survives.

Mr. Ponce worked in agriculture in Honduras and moved to Liberal in 2008.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ramon Ponce of Auburn, Ind., Ciriaco Ponce, El Dorado, and Edwin Ponce of Liberal; five daughters, Sara Ponce of Liberal, Francica Ponce of Dodge City, Dulce Ponce of Miami, Fla., Silvia Hernadez of Garden City, and Ivis Velez of Dodge City; a brother, Alfonso Ponce of Honduras; a sister, Victoria Ponce of Honduras; 25 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Santiago Ponce; a daughter, Suyapa Ponce; and his parents.

Rosary is at 7 p.m. Thursday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church with interment at Liberal Cemetery.
