Sam Casados, 66, of Garden City, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

Sam Casados, 66, of Garden City, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

He was born April 27, 1946, in Pueblo, Colo., to Solomon and Sadie Casados.

Survivors include a son, Steve Casados-Aguirre of Garden City; a daughter, Donna Sammelman of Jamestown, N.D.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Casados of Garden City, and Leroy Casados of Pueblo; and five sisters, Lola Trujillo, Gloria Jaques, Rita Rodgers and Mary Torres, all of Pueblo, and Candi Medina of Denver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Aguirre-Casados; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Margie Chavez; and his parents.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Nazarene in Garden City.
