Larry Gene Peitz, 50, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home in Garden City.

Larry Gene Peitz, 50, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home in Garden City.

He was born Aug. 1, 1962, in Garden City, to Clem E. and Dorothy M. Ausmus Peitz.

A lifetime resident of Garden City, Mr. Peitz had worked for Robinson Alignment from 1980 until 1987 and since had been a counter salesman at Smith Auto & Truck Parts Inc. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church of Garden City and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, riding Harleys, dancing, fishing, hunting and working in his yard.

On Sept. 11, 1982, he married Pattie R. Roth in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Weston "Jack" and Tia Peitz of Garden City; a daughter, Laramee and Solomon Crist of Garden City; his mother, Dorothy Peitz of Garden City; four brothers, Dennis Peitz of Holcomb, Dwayne Peitz and Frank Peitz, both of Garden City, and Gary Peitz of Greeley, Colo.; four sisters, Rita Herrell, Theresa Meng, Rebecca Upshaw and Carmen Wagner, all of Garden City; his mother-in-law, Pat Roth of Garden City; four grandchildren; and 139 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father; a son-in-law, Kevin James; and a brother, Jim Peitz.

Vigil and rosary services will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials to the Larry Peitz Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
