ULYSSES — Geraldine Harp, 84, of Ulysses, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born July 4, 1928, in Bearden, Ark., to Basil E. and Daisy Med Hood Mead.

A longtime Ulysses resident, Mrs. Harp was a seamstress for many years and did alterations for local clothing stores and the public.

On Feb. 9, 1946, she married Luther Harp in Bearden. He died Jan. 14, 1992. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bennie Robey; and a son, Stephen.

Survivors include two daughters, Beckie Fuentes of Houston, and Linda Smith of Ulysses; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Oasis Church in Ulysses. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Geraldine Harp Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
