Gerald Mangold


TRIBUNE — Gerald Duane Mangold, 82, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune.

He was born Nov. 16, 1930, in Ogallah, to Robert and Thelma Marie Zerfas Mangold.

A farmer and stockman, Mr. Mangold had been a Greeley County resident since the 1940s. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

On May 31, 1953, he married Doreen Helm in Tribune. She survives. Other survivors include five children, Nancy Brindle of Overland Park, Beverly Walter and Jerry Mangold, both of Tribune, Larry Mangold of Bethune, Colo., and Judi Pomajzl of Hallam, Neb.; three siblings, Arland Mangold of Tabor, Alberta, Canada, Arleta Blades of Goodyear, Ariz., and Vickie Rutherford of Hillsdale; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. MDT Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Tribune. Burial will be at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, with full military honors provided.

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune. Condolences may be sent at Memorials are suggested to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Park Foundation or Greeley County Health Center, both in care of the funeral home.
