Bobby Earl Cole Sr., 84 of Bay Springs, Miss., died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Cross Gates River Oaks in Brandon, Miss. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Colonial Chapel in Bay Springs, Miss. Dr. Frank Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, Miss., is in charge of arrangements (601-764-2181).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel.

He was a retired self-employed farmer and logger and was a line tech for Fail Engineering for a number of years. He was a Mason, past member of the American Horseman Association, past commander of the American Legion in Bay Springs, current member of the Hardee's Coffee Club, a past Board Leader of Stringer Water Works, and an awesome Daddy and best Papaw around. He won the crosscut saw competition 13 years in a row at Bay Fest in Bay Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter B. Cole and Myrtle Cole; his wife, Jackie Cole; a son, Doug Cole; four brothers, James Cole, Bill Cole, Tom Cole and Pat Cole; and one sister, Ruth Turner.

He is survived by two sons, Bobby Cole Jr. of Bay Springs, and Robert "Bink" Douglas Cole of Stringer, Miss.; two daughters, Debbie Cole Wharton of Garden City, Kan., and Pattie Sue Sims of Pelahatchie, Miss.; one sister, Rose Hodgeson of Bay Springs, Miss.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shane Boyd, Ernie Wharton, Dustin Sims, Michael Teer, Billy Griffin and George Wharton. Honorary pallbearets will be Rex Lee, Paul Johnson, Troy Lee Rayner, Brent Knotts, Cowboy McCarty, Bill Carlisle and Ellis Haden.
