Stanley Tackett

DEERFIELD — Stanley Ray Tackett, 58, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at St. Johns Hospital in Cassville, Mo.

He was born May 24, 1951, in Garden City, to Earl Stanley and Lora D. Bell Tackett. He attended school in Deerfield before serving with the 101st Airborne in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

A resident of Exeter, Mo., since 1999, moving from Deerfield, Mr. Tackett was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include four sons, Jeremiah Patterson of Salida, Colo., Jason Patterson of Denver, Colo., Waylon Tackett of Las Animas, Colo., and Chris Appeling of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Jayna Appeling of Lubbock; two brothers, David A. Tackett of Buda, Texas, and Kerry T. Tackett of Deerfield; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Josh Tackett.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Deerfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Stephens presiding. Burial will be at Deerfield Cemetery.

In remembrance of Stanley tackett.

Our sympathy is with his family. We always liked visiting with him when we saw him at the Deerfield functions. He will be missed.
