Published 3/12/2010 in Obituaries

Vivian Irene Burnett, 91, of Frontenac and formerly of Stafford, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Oakview Estates in Frontenac.

She was born July 28, 1918, in St. John, to Fredrick "Fred" and Mabel Drake Williams. She attended schools there, graduating from St. John High School.

On Aug. 4, 1958, she married Raburn Avon Burnett in Clayton, N.M.

Mrs. Burnett worked as a clerk for the Garden City Courthouse and later was a teacher's aide at Georgia Matthews Elementary School in Garden City, helping with the special education program. She was a former precinct chairman for the Garden City voting polls and was an avid book reader and collector.

In addition to her husband, other survivors include three daughters, Delores Dater of Lenexa, Beth King of Arvada, Colo., and Patsy Williams of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sons, Gary Duvall of Foss, Okla., Jerry Duvall of Lamar, Mo., Keith Duvall of Grove, Okla., and Kevin Burnett of Reno, Nev.; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Victor and Harold Williams; a grandson, Kerry King; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Turner.

Graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John, officiated by Jim Dillon, pastor. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the cemetery.

The family suggests that expression of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Nora E. Larabee Memorial Library, 108 N. Union St., Stafford, KS 67578 or in care of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
