Robert Jack "Bob" Spencer, 85, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at the Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was born March 28, 1933, in Lakin to Robert “Dick” Spencer and Leona Bernice (Rogers) Spencer.

On July 21, 1951, he married Velda Mae Cartwright.

He spent his entire life on a farm south of Kendall. He graduated from Kendall High School in 1951. He was known to all as a farmer for 67 years. He lived on the farm until moving to the High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin.

He is survived by a son, Kyle Spencer of Scott City; two daughters, Kathy Sampselle of Mt. Airy, Md., and Tammy Spencer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Darwin Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday, Jan. 5 at the First United Methodist Church in Syracuse. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. MST Friday, Jan. 4 at the Fellers Funeral Home LLC, Syracuse. Condolences may be sent to fellersfh@yahoo.com.
