Merriam Darlene Huelskamp, 84, of Salina, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.

She was born May 31, 1934, in Rock Creek Township, Kan. to Velma "Mildred" (Wheat) and Thomas Franklin Wilson.

She was married to Donald Dilts Huelskamp for about 26 years.

She taught first and second graders in several elementary schools in Garden City for 27 years then served as a Remedial Reading teacher before moving to Kansas City. She worked at Kansas School for the Deaf as Dorm teacher until she retired.

She is survived by four children, Luann Babcock and husband Jeff of Crest Hill, Ill., Monica Pharr of De Soto, Kan., Christie Britt of Salina and Casey Huelskamp and wife Pam, of Genoa, Colo.; sisters, Beverly Spade and Husband Willard of Emporia, Kan., Delores "Dee" Eldridge of Alta Vista, Kan.; sister-in-law, Lahoma Wilson of McLouth, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Clinton and Bryan; and brothers, Alvin, Dale and Daryl.

Cremation has been chosen. Memorial services will be announce at a later date.
