HOLCOMB — Michael “Spike” Guthrie, 64, died on Oct. 25, 2018, at his home in Holcomb, Kan.

He was born on Aug. 28, 1954, the son of Harry and Ruby Swaim Guthrie in Wichita, Kan. On May 28, 1982, he married Delores Ellis in Dodge City, Kan.

He was the owner and operator of Spike’s Electric and a master electrician himself.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Guthrie; three children, Desiree McDermed and wife Kelli of Independence, Kan., Caitlyn Guthrie of Holcomb and Logan Guthrie and wife Katy of Garden City, Kan.; three siblings, Brenda Marsh and husband Bobby, Ronda Bigley and Kenny Holt of Wichita; and three grandchildren, DJ McDermed, Marsae Hanneman and Azlynn Hangman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Cornerstone Church east auditorium in Garden City.

Private family interment will be held at the Valley View Cemetery at a later date.
