SYRACUSE — James Dean “Jim” Seba, Sr., 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at his home in Syracuse, Kan.

He was born Aug. 22, 1939, to Violet Ledora (Rasmussen) and Henry George Seba in Tribune, Kan. He married Sophia Eleanor “Ellie” Gutierrez on April 8, 1961, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tribune.

He was his happiest when working side by side with his wife. Together they worked at the Greeley County School and managed Tribune Bowl.

He is survived by his wife, Ellie Seba; daughter, Marla Howell; three sons, James Seba Jr. of Conway Springs, Kan., Todd Seba  of Pratt, Kan., Matthew Seba of Tonganoxie, Kan.; two brothers, Gary Seba of Lubbock, Texas and Norman Seba of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Donna Murphy of Hulbert, Okla. and Viola Jordan of Oregon; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Valdo, Dwayne and Don Seba; and three sisters, Delores, Valeta and Bertha.

Cremation was entrusted to Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Sublette. The family will celebrate his life on Memorial Day weekend 2019.
