SCOTT CITY — Jeffrey Scott Nix, 42, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, in Denver.

He was born Sept. 11, 1976, in Wichita to Jackie Dusenbery Drake.

A resident of Scott City since 1999, he was the owner and operator of American Roofing in Scott City and was the founder of Boxer Rescue of America.

On May 5, 2007, he married Michelle Wright in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.

Additional survivors include his wife, Michelle Nix of Scott City; a daughter, Aspyn Nix of Scott City; a son, Jeffrey Nix of Scott City; five sisters, Melissa English of Mitchell, S.D.; Tracy Gonzales of Haysville, Tanya Willis and Stacy Koester, both of Gillette, Wyo., and Dawn Schott of Aurora, Colo.; and two brothers, Nicholas Luiken of Douglass, and Rickie Drake of Arkansas City.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and one sister, Cheryl Graham.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Scott City. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Jeffrey Nix Memorial Fund, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
