DIGHTON — Doris Herndon Robb, 85, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Lane County Long Term Care in Dighton.
She was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Amy, to William Walter and Thelma Leota Owen Herndon. She graduated from Dighton High School and Ottawa University with a degree in teaching.
She taught at Great Bend in her first job. She moved to Denver and in 1956 was commissioned as a missionary of the American Baptist Home Mission Society. She went to work for the Denver Children Center. She later moved to Seattle where she was the pianist for two churches. She moved to Dighton in 2007.
Doris enjoyed leading Bible study groups, traveling, playing bingo and coming from a musical family singing and playing the piano.
Survivors include two sisters-in-laws, Corinne Herndon and Patricia Herndon, both of Dighton; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Presley Herndon and Owen Herndon.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Dighton. Burial will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
