DIGHTON — LaWana Rothers, 74, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City. 

She was born Dec. 4, 1943, in Topeka, to Alvis Bernard and Juanita Berline Bailey Rothers. She graduated from Mulvane High School in 1962.

A resident of Dighton since 1976, Mrs. Rothers was a baby sitter for several years and was active in volunteer work at Lane County Long Term Care. She was a regular at the JOY Center for lunch for many years, enjoyed bowling and was on a league team each fall.

Survivors include an aunt, Von Dyne and Gene Williamson of Dighton; an aunt, Melva and Freeman Knight of Scott City; cousins, Steve and Sue Shull of Ogallala, Neb., Gary and Sherlyn Bailey, and Jerry and Cindy Bailey, all of Scott City; an uncle, Cecil Rothers of Topeka; and a cousin, Diane Rothers of Denver.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Dighton, preceded by burial at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
