Melva A. Rose, 90, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.

She was born Aug. 16, 1927 in Logan County to Anson Robert and Daisy May Cook McDaniel.

A resident of Scott City since 2007, moving from Greeley, Colorado, she was an institutional cook at a nursing home for more than 35 years and was a founder for the Meals on Wheels program, both in Greeley.

Survivors inclue two sons, Bill Rose of Trophy Club, Texas, and Martin Rose of Victorville, California; two sisters, Roberta Leiker of Bel Aire, and Lucille Barraza of Wichita; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arlo McDaniel and Robert McDaniel; and two sisters, Virgie Redding and Marjorie McDaniel.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City. Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery.

Visitation was 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.

Memorials may be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Park Lane Nursing Home, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.
