ULYSSES — Marcelino “Mark” Pauda, 64, of Ulysses, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Shallowater, Texas, to Marcelino and Geneva Felan Pauda.
A Ulysses resident since 1972, Mr. Pauda worked in construction and oil field services at Treco Inc., before starting Pauda Roustabout Service in 1989.
On May 10, 1974, he married Elia Carrillo in Lamar, Colo. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Geneva Pauda of Ulysses; five sons, Mark, Freddy, Jacob and Troy Pauda, all of Ulysses, and Boomer Pauda of Holcomb; two daughters, Elena Dutton of Plains, and Crystal Metcalf of Ulysses; seven brothers, Jesse Pauda of Lubbock, Texas, Louie, Joe, Angel and Sammy Pauda, all of Ulysses, Albert Pauda of Dodge City, and Bill Pauda of Liberal; three sisters, Geneva Ramos, Irene Sosa and Irma Pando, all of Ulysses; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marcelino Pauda; a brother, Robert Pauda; and a sister, Dominga Esquivel.
Vigil service and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
