Matthew Thomas “Matt” Seacat, 29, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home in Garden City. 

He was born July 23, 1988, in Dodge City, to Derek and Sheila Osborne Seacat. He attended Dodge City High School.

Mr. Seacat worked at Sunflower Electric for several years after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his parents, Derek and Sheila Seacat of Dodge City; two brothers, Brian Seacat of Oklahoma City, and Garret Seacat of Emporia; his grandparents, Eldon Osborne and Emily Seacat; and his girlfriend, Tiffany Jervis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladys Osborne and William Dean Seacat.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. Inurnment will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge with full military honors conducted.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memories may be shared in the guest book at Memorials are suggested to ASPCA or Finney County Humane Society, both in care of the funeral home.
