LaVern Brau, 91, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City. 

He was born April 19, 1927, in Lakeview, S.D., to Albert John Brau Sr. and Clara Ellen Ratigan Brau. He attended Jesuit Mission School in Lakeview.    

He married Georgia Bea Kline in Scott City. She preceded him in death as did his parents; four brothers, Albert Brau Jr., Martin James Brau, Marvin Brau and his twin brother Leonard Brau; two sisters, Mary Ann Binns and Norma Lee Chandler McCrory; four half brothers, Lawrence, George, Paul and John; and a half sister Louise Brau Head.

A former resident of Scott City, Mr. Brau was a builder and lived and worked in western Kansas. He later moved to Arkansas where he worked at Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale, Ark. He later moved to Garden City. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include a sister, Marline Brau (Sister Annrene Brau) of Independence. 

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. A family burial will take place at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City.
