DIGHTON — Carolyn Kay Mudd, 78, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born May 31, 1940, in Dighton to Robert D. and Oral Permilia (Jordan) Bartlett.

She married Earl Rush in 1962 in Denver. She later married Ernest J. Mudd on Oct. 21, 1978, in Dighton.

She graduated from Dighton High School in 1958. She had her training as a stenographer and went to work for Martin Marietta Aerospace Corp. She moved back to Dighton in 1977 and worked for many years at the Dighton ASCS office (later FSA). She enjoyed being involved with the booster club when her children were in school and crocheting, sewing, knitting and her stamp and crafts collections.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Wanda Bartlett; and sister, Julienne Noll.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Mudd of the Home; a son, Bob Mudd of Dighton; two daughters, Jenifer and Marty Garcia of Arvada, Colorado, and Melissa and Jarric Miller of Lawrence; three brothers, Charles Canty of Caldwell, Idaho, Ned Chaney of Dayton, Nevada, and Jerry Chaney of San Diego; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church.
