DIGHTON — Rickey Lee Torson, 71, died Friday, June 8, 2018, at his home in Dighton. 

He was born July 15, 1946, in Garden City, to Vernon and Mary Alice Teeters Torson. He graduated from Dighton High School in 1965.

On June 9, 1968, he married Sue L. Barnett. 

Mr. Torson worked for Dighton Co-op and then worked on a farm before returning to the Co-op, where he served for 30 years, retiring as the manager of the Alamota Branch. He also was a volunteer fireman for many years.   

Survivors include his wife, Sue Torson of the home; three children, Rickey Jr. and Tiffany Torson of Safety Harbor, Fla., Kim and Virgil George of Stratton, Colo., and Nicole Torson of Dighton; a brother, Victor and Chris Torson of Crookston, Neb.; two sisters, Beverly and Lester Bockelman, and Melva and Steve Barnett, all of Dighton; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Torson, Quaid George, Ty Torson, Cora Tasset, Nicholas Torson, Chaten Tasset, Olivia Torson and Jayger George; and a great-grandson, Damien Audit.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers and sisters, Vern Torson Jr., Mary Jane Travis, Billie Jo Torson, Dixie McLendon, Marty Torson and Tony Torson.

Funeral will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Dighton. The family invites everybody to a reception at the family home after the service.
