LEOTI — Edythe Mae Spiker, 79, of Leoti, died Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti.
She was born Sept. 25, 1938, near Bird City, to James and Rose Mae Seitz Pettit.
A resident of Leoti since 1963, Mrs. Spiker held Badge D-1 as dispatch for the Wichita County Sheriff’s office.
In 1955, she married Robert Spiker in Goodland. He died in 1992 in Leoti. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Spiker; and a brother, Eldon Pettit.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Spiker of Leoti, Tim Spiker of Lynnwood, Wash., and Robert Spiker of Bellingham, Mass.; three siblings, Peggy Ketzner of Shawnee, Patricia Hill of Hays, and Jim Pettit of Denver; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Leoti. Burial will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery near Bird City.
Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti.
