Betty Lou Finuf, 96, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her home in Garden City.  

She was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Knowles, Okla., to Conan Othel and Vivian Eunice Chavis Buck. She graduated from high school in Wichita.

A Garden City resident since 1940, Mrs. Finuf worked as a cosmetologist for 72 years and was the owner and operator of Charm Glowe. She was a member of First Christian Church in Garden City. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and babysitting.

On Nov. 9, 1941, she married Loran Underwood in Garden City. He died June 23, 1975. On March 6, 1976, she married Harrison “Harry” Finuf in Garden City. He died Jan. 18, 1994. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Ann Underwood; a son, Larry Underwood; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Finuf; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Buck; a sister, Coila Hanne; and two grandsons, Larry Underwood Jr. and David Underwood.

Survivors include a daughter, Retta Underwood of Garden City; a stepson, Jim Finuf of Santa Cruz, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Linda and husband Larry Wilken of Garden City; a brother, William and wife Emmi Buck of Mission Viejo, Calif.; eight grandchildren, including Patricia Ann Underwood Smith of Greenbrier, Ark.; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.  

Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
