ULYSSES — Yolanda Gonzales, 68, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her home in Ulysses.

She was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Beeville, Texas, to Locario “Lucky” and Maria Adames Perez.

On Jan. 15, 1966, she married Leopoldo “Lee” Gonzales. 

Mrs. Gonzales was a beautician from 1977 to 1983. 

Survivors include her husband, Lee, of the home; three sons, Ernie Gonzales of Ulysses, Rodney Gonzales of Lakin, and James Gonzales of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Jessica Heath of Ulysses; six brothers, Richard Perez, Robert Perez, Rudy Perez and Raul Perez, all of Ulysses, Ramie Perez of Trinidad, Colo., and Ruben Perez of Liberal; two sisters, Dora Garza of Ulysses, and Viola Branson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucky and Maria Perez.

Vigil and rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. 

Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
