Lois L. Johnston, 89, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. 

She was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Garden City, to Calvin and Edna Brown Olomon. She graduated from Garden City High School.

On April 4, 1948, she married Raymond R. Johnston in Pueblo, Colo. He died June 9, 2011. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margie Thorsteinson and Eloise Hodges; and a brother, Grover Olomon.

Mrs. Johnston and her husband had farmed in Finney County since 1954. She was a member of Plymell Union Church. Her main interest was her family and their many activities, including ballgames and rodeos.

Survivors include a son, Larry and Esther Johnston of Garden City; a daughter, Betty and Preston Dew of Garden City; five grandchildren, Shelley (Jason) Meier, Chad Dew, Dixie (Troy) Brunson, Kelley (Rowdy) Slavin and Torri (Billy Pillars) Dew; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Plymell Union Church. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. 

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.
