Jeremy C. Scofield, 43, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at his home in Garden City.  

He was born April 14, 1974, on a U.S. aircraft in the airspace above Ankara, Turkey. He was the son of Bruce R. Scofield II and Mehtap Gelin Scofield Taylor.

A Garden City resident since 1996, Mr. Scofield worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lee Construction. He was a member of the NRA, and he enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, and his dogs “Chase” and “Hans.” He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his father, Bruce R. Scofield II of Elgin, S.C.; his mother, Mehtap Taylor of San Maria, Calif.; a sister, Jennifer and husband John Haag of Lincoln, Neb.; and a niece, Ashley Scofield.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
