Leonard James Snodgrass, 90, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at The Cottages in Garden City.
He was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Garden City, to Cecil and Hazel Snodgrass. He graduated from Garden City High School.
On Aug. 18, 1951, he married Margaret Ilene Liggett in Kansas City, Mo. Former residents of Haskell and Finney counties, they moved to Garden City in 1972.
Mr. Snodgrass worked most of his life around agriculture. He worked as a farmer, at Buffalo Industries, was the owner and operator of Bison Milling, and later worked and retired from Inland Container. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Eagle’s Lodge, both at Garden City. He enjoyed spending his time tinkering with crafts, camping and riding his motorcycles. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include a son, Jim Snodgrass of Garden City; two daughters, Georgeann and husband Larry Thomason of Garden City, and Jeanna and husband Richard Jones of Bucklin; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
His wife died Sept. 8, 2010. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Claude Snodgrass.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City.
Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
